Earlier this month, more than 320 SAHA residents from across the Bay Area joined together at our 3rd annual Senior Field Day at Albany Memorial Park. Volunteers, staff and community members grilled, ate, sang, danced, registered voters and competed for prizes throughout the day and great fun was had by all. The annaul event builds comunity by connecting seniors to resources, while giving local residents an opportunity to give back through volunteering. Twelve partner organizations and non-profits tabled at the event, joined by 44 volunteers.
Speaking of food, for the first time SAHA has partnered with the City of Oakland to offer free lunches to school-aged children at two properties. No one should go hungry in our communities!
