SAHA Celebrates the Groundbreaking for Jack Capon Villa

On March 13th, SAHA and partner HCEB celebrated the Groundbreaking for Jack Capon Villa, SAHA's first development in Alameda. A large crowd of supporters inlcuded neighbors, city officials, and staff and supporters of the movement that Jack Capon started years ago to champion rights for the developmentally disabled community. Among the supporters were distinguished guests Barbara Capon and Jennifer Cobb, Jack Capon's family as well as Mayor Gilmore and Vice Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft of Alameda.

Upon completion, Jack Capon Villa will offer 19-units of affordable housing for low-income people with developmental disabilities. The property will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments in a residential neighborhood that is close to local shopping and medical care.

We sincerly thank everyone who has helped this important project come to fruition and came to celebrate with us at the celebration.
