SAHA partnered with East Bay Community Recovery Project (EBCRP) to rehabilitate a vacant hotel in West Oakland to provide a sustainable permanent home for Project Pride recovery program and greatly enhance a blighted corner in the neighborhood. The project has 20 SRO units providing housing for women in recovery from substance abuse, many of whom also have co-occurring mental health disabilities and other special needs. The program enables women to reunite and care for their young children while in recovery. The building includes a fully equipped commercial kitchen (with energy efficient appliances) and dining room that is designed to foster family interaction during meals, three flexible use community rooms, on-site laundry, on-site cooperative childcare space for residents, recreational open space, computers, and supportive service offices.
