The idea for Eastside Arts and Housing came out of an intensive community planning process. EastSide Arts Alliance, a grassroots community arts organization, was seeking a permanent home for their organization along with a performance stage and space for afterschool programming. ESAA and AHA teamed up to purchase and rehabilitate a vacant building on International Boulevard near the corner of 23rd. The result was 15 beautifully renovated apartments and 4 commercial spaces as well as the Eastside Arts Alliance offices, performance space, recording studio, printmaking studio and gallery.
