Компании Satellite Affordable Housing Associates и Abode Communities сотрудничают с Объединенным школьным округом Беркли (BUSD) для создания столь необходимого жилья для рабочей силы на излишней земле, принадлежащей округу. BUSD Workforce Housing будет представлять собой шестиэтажный новострой на 110 единиц для семейного проживания. Участок под проект принадлежит BUSD и ранее использовался в качестве наземной парковки.

BUSD employees, including teachers and non-teaching staff, will receive preference for the homes, which will serve households earning between 30% AMI and 120% AMI. A mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units will be offered, along with onsite amenities including a spacious landscaped courtyard with BBQ area, gardening beds, and children’s play areas; a fitness room, a community room, a lobby, management offices and secure bicycle storage. The project is well-located in northwest Berkeley close to shopping, public parks, bicycle lanes, and transit.
