Head of household must be age 55 or older at the time of application. If there are any additional members, they must be age 45 or older or meet an exception. Please see the flyer for exceptions.

The waiting list for 1-bedroom units at Tabora Gardens Senior Apartments opens on January 28, 2026 at 9:00 AM. Applications will be available to submit online. A valid email address is required to apply online. Online applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM on February 11, 2026.

Paper applications available for pick up and drop off at 3701 Tabora Drive, Antioch, CA 94509 at the following times:

Wednesday, January 28, 2026: 9 am – 4 pm
Friday, January 30, 2026: 9 am – 4 pm
Monday, February 2, 2026: 9 am – 4 pm
Wednesday, February 4, 2026: 9 am – 4 pm
Friday, February 6, 2026: 9 am – 4 pm

A lottery will be conducted for all applications received by the deadline. The top 500 applications will be placed on the waiting list for consideration.

Completed in 2018, Tabora Gardens Senior Apartments provides 85 affordable homes for seniors. It is the first project built utilizing the State’s Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention Program and has 34 homes set aside for veterans, 12 of which are formerly chronically homeless. The 3.2 acre site is extensively landscaped with several seating areas, a vegetable garden and a meditation area. Amenities include a community room, a computer room, an exercise room and wireless internet free for residents throughout the entire building. Overlooking a quiet open space preserve, yet with neighborhood amenities in close proximity, the site is ideally located for senior housing.
