Lakeside Senior Apartments in Oakland wins the 2017 PCBC Golden Nugget Award for Best Affordable Senior Housing Community.
Small changes in policy can make a big impact in the fight to end homelessness. Unless you’re a housing policy wonk, it’s easy to lose interest when you read the words “HUD project-based subsidies” or “tenant selection plans,” but small changes to these large federal programs can have an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of real people in our community. On Thursday, May 18, Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA) broke ground on 28 high quality, geographically equitable apartments for low-income families and formerly homeless in Oakland’s Upper Laurel neighborhood.
SAHA is preserving 80 units of affordable rental housing for seniors at Casa Mantego through an extensive rehabilitation project.
Thank you Moms Against Poverty, Toys4Tots, and Christ Community Church for bringing over 400 smiles to SAHA communities over the Holidays!
We're off to a strong start in 2017! Across the Bay Area, our communities have raised their voices by voting for new funding to support affordable housing, recognizing that it is necessary for a just, fair, and inclusive world.
“I was looking forward to this – I never expected it would be so…bountiful!”
AHA merged with Satellite to form SAHA, and we continue to be committed to developing housing for those with the fewest options.
We are honored to announce that Lakeside Senior Apartments won the Affordable Housing Finance Readers' Choice Award in the senior category.
This fall is shaping up to be an important season for affordable housing in the Bay Area. With three bond measures on the ballot, a ground breaking, major awards, and a story in the New York Times, the staff at SAHA are working hard to raise awareness, funds, and support to meet the needs in the communities we serve. We hope we can count on your support!
