949 Moraga Road is a partnership collaboration between Satellite Affordable Housing Associates and Sunflower Hill to create much needed affordable housing on surplus land owned by the City of Lafayette. 949 Moraga Road includes 48 units of affordable one- and two-bedroom homes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), an underserved community in the housing market. More than just a four-story apartment building, 949 Moraga Road is thoughtfully designed to create a sense of community. Community amenities include a fitness room, teaching kitchen, two multipurpose community rooms opening out onto two outdoor at-grade courtyards, a vegetable garden and informal gathering spaces. Resident-centered supportive services include individualized case coordination support and community activities to foster social integration and build life skills according to residents’ interests and needs. 949 Moraga Road is well-located in Downtown Lafayette nearby community service amenities, medical facilities, supermarkets, parks and public transit.
